THE MUNCHER
Taotie, a Chinese mythological creatures , one of the "four evil creatures of the world".
I recreated his look as a huge chubby guy eating up junk food ( or junk soul ) in Hell.
He sees the world with the eyes grow at his armpit ( feeling insecure so Taotie made a pair fake eyes on his face) .
Taotie is greedy of eating and drinking, craving for money and property.
Inspirations
I relate this character to fast food culture, to represent the current situation happening now.
{Fast food is basically on-the-go food, quickly made, and served within minutes for the people who lead fast-paced lives.}
We are rushing for nothing, wishing to achieve goals using shortcuts
and become ‘successful’ in a blink of an eye.
Fast food culture is changing the behavior of producers & consumers, it seems to be popular within the younger generations .People expect to get a quick and fast return and the least time / pay out as possible.
